How to plan a wedding in less than a month
Thank you to everyone who helped! I don't recommend ever trying to plan an event like this in under a month, but should you ever find yourself in the situation, I can recommend:
- Day-of Event Coordination by Jen Gets It Done - Jen helped pull logistics together and was a true lifesaver.
- Jacquelyn Martin Photography - photojournalist extraordinaire
- Greenworks Florist
- Spanish/Classical Guitar - cocktail hour music by Jarrett Laskey
- Favors by My M&Ms
- Dessert by Cake Love - Strawberrys & Cream and My Downfall
- Hair by Lauren at Fiddleheads
- Nusta Spa - nails/spa day organized by the amazing Megan, Anat, and Barbara
- More flowers under the guidance of the amazing Laura and Megan and with supplies from World Market and Johnson's Florist
- Paper Source - with place card bows lovingly tied by Kathy, Paula, Monica, and Heidi
- Ipod playlist
- Tux/Vest Rental
- 300+ photos shot over the course of 4 years
- 1 minute of trans-pacific video shot over the course of 4 hours
- One 75-year-old wedding band, and another wedding band from a nameless jewelry store who has trouble fed-ex-ing things on time!
- One interview with the Australian Ambassador (good on ya, cobber!)
- Spence on hd flip video camera
- Dress alterations in 48 hours
- Vows and a Judge

After Party
We'll be heading out to Bar Dupont at the Dupont Hotel after dinner on June 19th - around 10:30 PM. The Dupont Hotel is located 2 blocks east of the Cosmos Club (walk over on Q Street towards Connecticut Avenue to 19th and Q; your car can remain in the Cosmos lot). We hope you can join us!
... Sounds almost too chic for me, but I'll be at my maximum chic that night, so why not?! ;-)
"The newly-refurbished Dupont Hotel houses the Bar Dupont: Intimate, unexpected and unashamedly chic, the cocktail bar redefines lounge style for the Dupont Circle set. Custom-designed leather furnishings, modern artworks and rich, dark textures create a seductive atmosphere within the hotel in which to enjoy lunch or dinner, a glass of wine or a colourful cocktail with friends."
